This is an innovative programme jointly initiated by the Former Presidents of the United
Republic of Tanzania and United States of America, His Excellency Benjamin
William Mkapa and His Excellency William Jefferson Clinton, respectively.
The programme through financial support from the Government of Norway and the
Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) is dedicated to address the gaps in human resource
for health sector which is key in scaling up HIV/AIDS Care and Treatment. Purpose of
the Programme is to recruit, train, deploy and retain skilled professionals to support the
aggressive implementation of Tanzania’s response to HIV/AIDS, including but not limited
to the National Care and Treatment Program.
Vision Statement: visualizes Tanzania as a country with universal access to quality care and treatment of people living with HIV/AIDS
Mission Statement :To have adequate, competent and skilled personnel, highly dedicated and motivated to work in health facilities of all levels in rural and urban areas.
