The Benjamin William Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation (BMAF) is collaborating with Intrahealth International to implement Tanzania Human Resource Capacity Project (THRP). The project is working with the MOHSW and PMORALG to address the human resource for health crisis. It is technically supported by Intrahealth International and is financially supported by USAID.
THRP is a consortium of partners that have a common goal of improving the health and social welfare workforce of Tanzania. The project is working within the country’s policy framework and through local institutions, promoting government ownership, and engaging with partners to improve the delivery of health and social services.

The partner coalition under the leadership of the Benjamin William Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation (BMAF) comprises of Christian Social Service Commission (CSSC); Agakhan Foundation (AKF); Institute of Social Welfare (ISW) and University of Dar es Salaam – Computer Science (UDSM). Other partners in the project include MOHSW, PMORALG, Local Government Authorities, and Management Sciences for Health (MSH), Technical Resource Group (TRG), IMA and Jane Adams. The project focuses on accelerating the Health Sector Strategic Plan (HSSP) III- HRH component and the National HRH Strategic Plan.
