Tanzania has a number of
partners who are supporting in different areas in the health
sector particularly in HIV/AIDS.
Benjamin William Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation (BMAF) is working
in collaboration with both international and national partners
in complementing the national efforts in response to HIV/AIDS
pandemic.
National Partners
At the national level ,BMAF is working in
close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social
Welfare (MOHSW) of Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar; Prime Minister's
Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG)
and Tanzania Commission of AIDS (TACAIDS)
.
International Partners
Our International partners within the country
that financially support the programmes implemented by the
Foundation include the Norwegian Embassy, Clinton Foundation
and Global Fund to fight against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and
Malaria (GFATM).
Other partners working in collaboration with the Foundation
and providing technical assistance to the programmes include
World Health Organization (WHO),
Clinton Foundation(CHAI)
through the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative and Capacity Project.
Regionalized Partners
The Ministry of Health & Social Welfare
have allocated implementing partners supporting the HIV/AIDS
Care and Treatment,into different regions of the country to
ensure effective harmonization and coordination. The partners
grouped as “Regionalized partners” include Family
Health International (FHI),
Department of Defence (DoD), Clinton Foundation, AIDS Relief,
Elizabeth Glaser Paediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF)
and Columbia University. The Foundation through its two programmes
of Mkapa Fellows Programme and Emergency Hiring Project work
in close collaboration with the Regionalized partners in ensuring
the districts health systems are strengthened including HIV/AIDS
services
