Dr. Ellen Mkondya Senkoro -Chief Executive Officer.

As the first CEO of BMAF, she provides stewardship and strategic leadership to the institution. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked with UNFPA managing Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS portfolios. She has led two Municipal Council Health departments. In her work, she has enforced partnership, policy dialogue and effective programming across Government, Donors and NGOs for health service development. She is a medical doctor and a public health specialist, with 16 years work experience.




Ms. Rahel Sheiza - Director of Programmes.

She holds Master of Science in Human Resources Management. She has 10 years experience on human resources issues. Before joining Mkapa Foundation, she worked with Tanzania Meteorological Agency as senior Human Resources officer and participated fully in restructuring process of the organization and preparation of HR policy. She has attended various HR related training and workshops which equip her with more skills on HR issues. She also worked with TechTop Consult Tanzania Ltd.





Deogratias Laballa – Director of Finance and Grants

He is a fully registered member of National Board of Accountancy and Auditors (NBAA)– Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (T) in Public Practice. Graduated from the University of Dar es salaam with Bachelors of Commerce Accounting Honour in 2002. Worked with Price Waterhouse Coopers, Dar-es-Salaam for 5 years. For two years he worked in different European countries and United States of America after being seconded by Price Water Coopers.




Ms.Irene Ungani-Kyara - Director of Human Resources and Administration.

She holds Masters of Personnel Development (Westminster University), also a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD UK) Graduate Member. She has 10 years experience in human resources practices. Before joining Mkapa Foundation, she worked with WaterAid Tanzania as Head of Human Resources and Administration. Most of her HR career is based from the United Kingdom, where she worked with Goodyear Dunlop, Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust, British Gas Recruitment Centre, and Nestor PrimeCare Primary Care. She has attended various HR related training and workshops which has added more skills into her profession.





Msomisi Mbenna-Head of Business Development.

Ms.Mbenna holds a BA-International Business Administration from University of Lincoln-England and is also a certified dealer as she holds an ACI dealing certficate.Her work experience expands from Stanbic bank where she worked for 4 years as a Mobile Business Banker Manager,before moving to the Treasury department as a Global Marketssales Manager.In 2007,Ms.Mbenna made a transition to the development sector to work for Plan International as the Resource Mobilization Manager before joining the Mkapa Foundation as the Head of Business Development in 2012.Ms. Mbenna's experience involves Resource Mobilization,Fundraising and donor relations.   





Dr. Adeline Saguti Nyamwihura - Programme Manager-Capacity Development

Worked in as a trainer and a programmer in the Medical field and HRH management for over twenty years. Worked with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare before joining the Foundation.  Attended various courses and workshops in HR Management and Project Management, local and international. This enabled her work with Central and Local Government in an effort to improve the Health Systems in Tanzania. She is a Dental Surgeon with Masters in Public Health and a member of MEWATA





Peter Mbago - Program Manager-Health Workforce Management

He has Master of Arts in Information studies and Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration. He has 8 years experience on human resources and project management. Prior to joining Mkapa Foundation, he worked with various organizations among them; President’s Office Public Service Management, Muhimbili University of Health and allied Sciences (MUHAS) and University Research Company (URC). He has attended various local and international training and workshops on HR and Project Management.





Paul Mhakalira–Procurement and Administration Manager.

He has experience in National and International procurement from both Private and Public Sector.  He holds Masters Degree in Business Administration (Finance and Banking). He is a Certified Procurement and Supplies Professional, CPSP (T) and registered with Procurement and Supplies Professional and Technician Board (PSPB). Before joining Mkapa Foundation, he worked with Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) as a Senior Procurement expert.





Ms. Anna Tenga Mzinga - Grants Manager

She is a professional accountant holding CPA and Masters in Business Administration. She has previously worked with several local and International organizations. She has hold several posts among them Director of Finance and Administration and Payroll Accountant, assistant accountant and chief cashier of The Open university of Tanzania. She received various awards among them IPP Best CPA Award, TAC Auditing and Investigation award, PriceWaterhouse Coopers Best CPA Graduate Prize winner, and the like.






Ms. Prisca Mbeswa-Finance Manager

She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T) and a holder of Bachelor of Commerce - Accounting from University of Dar es Salaam, Honors in 2005. Before joining BMAF team she worked with Pathfinder International as Senior Finance Officer for 4 years, IAMGOLD Tanzania Ltd in Mwanza as Senior Accountant for 3 years and Deloitte as Audit Assistant for 2 years.






Ms. Lucy Lwakatare-Project Manager-Investment

She has a Post Graduate in Project Management. A holder of Bachelor of Architecture with honors from University of Dar es salaam. Before joining Benjamin Mkapa Foundation as a Project Manager in Investments in 2014; worked at National Microfinance Bank as a project Manager and Tanzania Building Agency as an Architect II.








Ms. Christine Malembeka - Field Program Coordinator-DSM Office.

She holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration and Advanced Diploma in Health Administration both awarded by Mzumbe University. She has previously worked with Voluntary agency at Dareda Mission Hospital for a year which encompasses her with Public Private Partnership knowledge among other local organizations. She attended many trainings, courses and workshops equipping her with more skills on managing HRH issues.





Issuja M. Kilian - Program Officer - Human Resources for Health Management

He holds a Masters of Science in Health Systems Management and Advanced Diploma in Health Administration from Mzumbe University. He has experience on human resources for health issues for more than 10 years. Before joining Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation, he worked with International SOS (Kahama) as Hospital Administrator and Mufindi District Council as District Health secretary. He has attended various HRH trainings and workshops equipping him with more skills on HRH.





Augustine Kiria - Accountant

He is a holder  of an advanced diploma in Accountancy from the Institute of Finance and Management (IFM). He also holds Professional Level III of the National Board of Accountancy and Auditing Certificate. In his career as an accountant; he has worked with BIOLANDS International Ltd, National Insurance Co-operation, Parastatal Pension Fund, Lima limited and Mavuno Limited. He has a wealth of experience on accounting and finance.





Dr.Lusekelo Brown Njonge- Head of Monitoring and Evaluation Unit

He is a medical doctor with Master of Science in Health Monitoring and Evaluation.He has tremendous work in program/project monitoring and Evaluation. Before joining Mkapa Foundation, he worked with Kiteto District council as Hospital Medical officer in charge. He also worked with JHPIEGO as senior M&E officer, full participated in overseeing the UHAI-CT program implementation and also with PharmAccess International as Project Manager Monitoring and Evaluation were he participated in revising the patient monitoring system (PMS) for care and treatment service and development of national Health sector HIV/AIDS strategic plan. He has participated in various HIV/AIDS and TB studies, including baseline and follow up assessments. .





Ms.Kibudia Robert Mwaimu – Construction Management Officer- Health Infrastructure

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture(2001) from UCLAS (currently Ardhi University); She is also a registered architect, registered by the Board of Architects and Quantity Surveyors. She is also a council member of the Architectural association of Tanzania and has a working experience of more than 10 years in the Construction Projects Management. Prior to Joining BMAF in May 2013, she worked for 10yrs with Mekon Arch Consult Ltd as an architect overseeing management of different projects as part of the consulting team. She also worked with Belva Consult Ltd, TAWAH(Tanzania Women Architects for Humanity) and In-house Projects as a project architect supervising construction projects. .





Leodegard Benedict

Dr.Leodegard Benedict –Programme Officer - Health Service Delivery

He is a MUHAS graduate, he has worked at Mbinga DC as Medical Officer in charge of the Maternity ward and acting DMO occasionally. He joined ICAP Tanzania as Clinical Advisor in Kigoma region supervising the provision of Comprehensive HIV Prevention, Care, Treatment and support in the region. He later joined THPS as Senior Clinical Advisor were he participated in the establishment of the THPS-Kigoma regional office, and continued supervising the provision of Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care, Treatment and support services in the region, cervical cancer screening and TBHIV collaborative activities working with regional and district health authorities.





Benedict J Marunda– Information and Communications Technology Officer

He is a holder of Bachelor of Technology in Information technology (BTECH/IT) from St. Joseph College of Engineering and Technology. Before joining Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation, he previously worked with Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) where he served as Systems Administrator for four (4) years; he has attended various Information and Communications Technology trainings and workshops. He has a sound experience on Information and Communications Technology issues.





Christina Godfrey – Advocacy Officer

She is a holder of Bachelor of Arts in Public relations and Advertising from University of Dar es salaam. Before joining BMAF she worked with ActionAid Tanzania as Fundraising officer from 2011-2014. she also previous worked with various projects such as Women Information Centre project under Ministry of Community Development, Gender and Children as information/communication consultant and Intern at Advocacy in Maternal Health project in Care International.





Restituta Masao-Field Program Assistant-Northern Zone

She holds Advance Diploma in Business Administration basically on Human Resource Management from the College of Business Education. She has an experience on Administration, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Procurement issues. Before joining BMAF she worked with Higher Education Students Loan Board and Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute assisting on Administration and Finance departments. She is a hardworking person, can complete assignments with a minimal supervision.





dr. john msaki

Dr. John Aiyona Msaki-Regional Program Officer-Rukwa.

Dr Msaki is a registered Medical Doctor, prior to joining BMAF he was working at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre as a general practioner, there after Team leader in the First National Tuberculosis Prevalence Survey Project under the National Institute for Medical Research(NIMR) and the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Program of the Ministry of Health. He is a graduate from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied sciences with a Doctor of Medicine degree. .





Ms. Florah Kahwa - Program Secretary

She is holding full secretarial Diploma. She had been previously worked with JB Corporate Management and Tax Consultants. Before she worked with Mission Mikocheni Hospital at Bills Department. She has also worked with Classical Intergrated Services Limited as Management Secretary. She is currently the Office Management Secretary and Registry of Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation under HR and Administration department.

Ms. Salma Sizya Yusuf - Personal Assistant to the CEO

She is a holder of Advanced Pitman’s Certificates in Secretarial Studies from London. She has attended other trainings related to her professional – Advanced Level in Management Development Programme for Executive Assistants from ESAMI  Mombasa–Kenya, as well as other Advanced Courses from the British Council – Dar es Salaam.     She has a sound experience of working with international organizations.  Before joining the Foundation she was employed by Rift Valley Railways (Kenya/Uganda) Ltd.  at its Dar es Salaam Branch.  





Ms. Hyasinta Stephen - Front Desk Assistant

She holds certificates for Secondary school education,Computer applications. Certificate in secretarial at Momesco Training College, also Certificate for Office Management and Record keeping attained at Magogoni Public Service College. Before joining Benjamin William Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation She worked as a Receptionist / Telephone Operator with, Kilimanjaro International Airport for one year, Kubwa Five Safaris for two years, GTZ three years, also worked with Maasai Camp as Customer Care officer for three years.





Vionely Mbawa - Driver

He is a form Four lever with Class C Driving licence. Before joining Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation, he was working with M & D Chemical and Surgical Ltd as a driver.




Josephat Maganga- Logistics Assistant Cum Driver

He holds an Ordinary Level of Education and an Advanced Drivers Grade II and PSV certificates from NIT. He has worked with various organizations as a driver and had over 14 years experience. He has participated in several on job trainings and awarded several certificates among them Defense and Security, HIV/AIDS and Behavior Change Communication. (Nairobi). He holds a clear new driving license with classes C1, C2, C3, D, E, B and A.







Remmy Moshi - Field Coordinator

He holds Masters degree in Health Systems Management and BPA in Health Services Management from Mzumbe University. His experience on human resources for health issues spans over eight years. Before joining Mkapa Foundation, He worked with Karatu District Council for more than three years and Ministry of Health and Social Welfare - ZHRC Lake Zone for more than four years. Also he attended various HRH related trainings and workshops which broaden his knowledge and skills on HRH issues.



Shabani Kingazi

Dr.Shabani Kingazi - Regional Programme Manager

Is a Muhimbili University graduate in Doctor of Medicine, Full registered Medical Doctor with Tanganyika Medical council. Shabani has worked as DED at Kilindi and worked as Medical Officer in Charge at Kilindi District Hospital for three years, and later as Acting District Medical Officer. Later he joined ICAP Tanzania as a Clinical Advisor in HIV Care and Treatment, and later to Senior Clinical Advisor until May 2015.



Ms. Scolastica Komba-Field Program Assistant

She hold a bachelor degree of Arts in Sociology majoring in public health. Before joining Mkapa Foundation she worked with Young Women`s Christianity Association (YWCA) as a program officer to the project of Gender Based on Violence. She has attended various training and workshops. She was awarded certificate in Women`s Create a Safe World at Zurich–Geneva, Also she has attended  training on Sexual reproductive and Adolescent Girls behaves change Nairobi-Kenya by Church World Service.





Ms.Anna Machange-Administrativeand Accounts Officer
She previously worked as an accountant at Kagera Sugar Ltd for one year. Before that she was employed by Catholic Relief Services as a project Accountant for two years. She is a holder of Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Accountancy and Advanced Diploma in Accountancy. She works as Administration  and Accountant Assistant based in Mwanza field Office.












Ms. Atuganile Jonas- Field Coordinator

She is a holder of Master of Arts in Education, Health Promotion and International Development. She has over seven years working experience with local and International NGOs in different capacities. She has a vast experience in Project Planning, Management and Monitoring. Before joining Benjamin Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation, She was working with Aga Khan Foundation as a Programme Officer-Health, coordinating and monitoring health portfolio in Tanzania.





Jackson John Mengele–Field Program Assistant

He holds  a Degree in Public Administration in Health Services Management from Mzumbe University Morogoro. Before joining Mkapa Foundation he worked with Ludewa District Council as District Health Secretary for two (2) years. He has a sound experience on Human Resources for Health issues





Hijja Matotola-Logistic Cum Driver (LAD)

He holds Advanced Certificate of Drivers Course Grade II (VIP) from National Institute of Transport (NIT), Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education. Before joining Mkapa Foundation he worked at Kariakoo Limited as Purchasing Officer Cum Driver. Also he worked with Population Services International (PSI) as Sales and Marketing Cum Driver and before that he worked with Taurus Tours and Mwangaza Farm at Arusha Region.










Ms. Joan J. Mungereza- Field Program Coordinator

She holds a BA in Sociology and MA in Development Studies from the University of DSM.Has 5 years professional experience in the non governmental sector and International community.Has worked with various local and international organizations and institutions like Plan International and the Embassy of Norway in different program capacities. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked with the Foundation for Civil Society in Tanzania as a Grants Program Officer.


Bushiri A.Mohamed- Logistic Cum Driver (LAD)

He is a Form four leaver with driving and mechanical skills at Mtwara driving school. He Worked with Dash-Wood Cooperation and UNIAFRICO Company.Has Advanced driver's course grade II (VIP) from NIT. Before joining the Foundation he has worked with M & P company in Mtwara as a driver as well
