The Benjamin William Mkapa HIV/AIDS foundation (BMAF), held a four days training for the media personnel from Televisions, Radios and Print Medias which was conducted at Giraffe Hotel in Dar es Salaam. The training intended to build capacity on HRM matters to media personnel to further advocate for an improved HRH management system for the Tanzanian health workforce with a motive of increasing job attractiveness, motivation and staff retention. 

It involved 20 participants from different media categories such as Televisions, Radios and print media. In the course of the sessions, facilitators used participatory approaches through which all participants were given a room to contribute their ideas, share experience and ask questions. Moreover different facilitation skills such as focus group discussions, presentations and lecturing were applied successfully.

Meeting

In July 2005, then President of Tanzania, H.E. Benjamin William Mkapa and the former US President H.E. William Jefferson Clinton launched the Benjamin William National HIV/AIDS Fellows program. The aim was to recruit, train and deploy highly skilled health workers to server rural areas.
