The Benjamin William Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation is a non-profit
making, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established and
incorporated under the Trustees’ Incorporation Ordinance,
CAP 375. It was established in February 2006 aiming to complement
the national efforts in addressing HIV/AIDS pandemic. The
Foundation was established after the launching of its first
programme known as the Mkapa Fellows Programme in July 2005.
Currently the Foundation is overseeing two initiatives namely
Mkapa Fellows Programme and Emergency Hiring Project whereby
both focus on accelerating HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment
in the context of addressing Human Resource for Health challenges.
