Dr Ellen

Dr. Ellen Mkondya Senkoro - Chief Executive Officer

A Medical Doctor and a Public Health specialist with more than 15 years working experience in health sector. Prior to joining BMAF in November 2006, she worked with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as National Programme Officer overseeing Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS and Health Systems. She has led district health teams under the capacity as the District Medical Officer in two Municipal Councils in Tanzania. Through the various posts held, partnership and networking was enhanced with Government, Civil Society Organizations, Multi-Bilateral partners including UN development assistance to the Health sector. She is an active member and among the National executive leaders of the Medical Women Association of Tanzania (MEWATA) and Medical Women International Association (MWIA).

Rahel Sheiza

Ms. Rahel Sheiza - Director of Programmes

She holds Master of Science in Human Resources Management. She has a sound experience on human resources issues for more than 10 years. Before joining Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation, she worked with Tanzania Meteorological Agency as senior Human Resources officer and participated fully in restructuring process of the organization and preparation of HR policy. Ms. Sheiza has attended various HR related training and workshops which equip her with more skills on HR issues. She also worked as Senior Associate consultant with TechTop Consult Tanzania Ltd. Currently; she is a Human Resources and Administrative Manager.

Deogratias LaballaDeogratias Laballa – Director of Finance and Grants

He is a fully registered member of National Board of Accountants and Auditors - Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice CPA(T) PP. He graduated from the University of Dar es salaam, B.Com Accounting Hons in 2002. He is currently pursuing his MA degree program in Economics from the University of South Africa (UNISA). He joined PwC, Dar es salaam from September 2002 straight from the Univerity of Dar es salaam and worked in the audit department until mid 2007 where he managed to develop enormous knowledge and experience in accounting and auditing in public and private sectorentities as well as NGO’s. He was then seconded to PwC UK (Glasgow and London) from mid 2007 – Oct 2009 where he was able to get first class experience from global leading entities and systems. Has worked in different countries during his secondment tenure in the UK (Including Hungary, Russia and USA). Upon his return to PwC Dar es salaam, he worked as a manager within the audit department for two years. During this period he was involved in providing technical guidance and management of the engagement teams as well as managing relationships with clients and staff. He has extensive knowledge and experience in accounting and auditing of Non-Governmental organisations, private companies and public entities including application of IFRS and many other standards..

Emilian BundalaMr. Emilian Bundala - Director of Human Resources and Administration

He is a Human Resource Management and Administration specialist with more than 15 years working experience. Prior to joining BMAF in August 2011, he served as Human Resource Manager for the Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) project, managed in Tanzania by John Snow Incorporated (JSI), an American International Technical firm. Previously, Emilian was National Administration Manager for Plan International in Tanzania and earlier before, started his career in the Tanzania Telecommunication Company Limited (TTCL) where he worked as Regional He ad of Human Resource and Administration and as Regional Corporate Services Manager. He holds a broad exposure and training from the organizations he has worked and also from other institutions. He has a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management.

Mrs Emma Mtiro

Mrs. Emma Kofa Mtiro – Head– Monitoring and Evaluation

Emma Kofa Mtiro is a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the Mkapa Foundation. She has over 7 years of experience in public health in several arenas, including infectious disease surveillance and reporting, health policy and administration, immunizations and HIV/AIDS, health services research, and public health informatics. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked in local government, non-profit, and other nongovernmental organizations in the United States. Emma holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Technology Studies and a Master’s degree in Public Health.

Adeline Saguti

Dr. Adeline Saguti Nyamwihura - Programme Manager-Capacity Development

She is holding a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and Master in Public Health. She has been a trainers, Training Coordinator with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, and District Dental Officer before joining BMAF. She attended various local and international courses on Human Resources Management and Project Management locally and internationally. She is a member of MEWATA, Tanzania Dental Association and Tanzania Public Health Association.

Gerald Jeremiah

Mr. Gerald Jeremiah - Internal Auditor

He is a professional and certified Accountant holding CPA and Bachelor of Commerce and Management degree. He has a vast experience of finance issues since he has been working with different organizations as an accountant. He is a registered member of NBAA.

Peter Mbago

Mr. Peter Mbago - Program Manager-Health Workforce Management

He holds a Master of Arts in Information studies and Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration. He has wealth of experience on human resources and project management for more than 8 years. Prior to joining Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation, he worked with various organizations that deal with Human Resource Management as follows: President’s Office Public Service Management as a management analyst, Mu himbili University of Health and allied sciences as a Project Manager and University Research Company - Health care Improvement project as a human resource quality improvement advisor. He has attended various local and international training and workshops on Human Resources Management.

George Magembe

Mr. George Magembe - Programme Manager - Health Infrastructure


Mr. George Magembe is a Program Manager for Health Infrastructures Development at the Foundation. He has more than ten years of experience in construction project management and worked in the United States and Tanzania. George holds a Master of Science degree in Building Construction (University of Florida), a bachelor degree in Building Economics and Quantity Surveying (UCLAS), and currently is working on becoming a U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental (LEED) accredited professional; an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies intended to improve performance in metrics such as energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts. He previously worked for Bovis Lend Lease, Inc.

 

Paul Mhakalira

Paul Mhakalira–Procurement and Administration Manager.

He is a Procurement professional with vast experience in National and International procurement from both Private and Public Sector. Paul holds Masters Degree in Business Administration (Finance and Banking). He is a Certified Procurement and Supplies Professional, CPSP (T) and registered with Procurement and Supplies Professional and Technician Board (PSPB). Currently he is in final stage of pursuing CPA (T) certificate. Before joining the foundation, he was working with Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) as a Senior Procurement expert.

Ms. Anna Tenga Mzinga

Ms. Anna Tenga Mzinga - Grants Manager

She is a professional accountant holding CPA and Masters in Business Administration. Before joining Mkapa Foundation, she was working with Higher Education Students Loans Board as a senior accountant, Dunduliza Company limited in partnership with Desjardians International Development (DID-Canadian Project) as Director of Finance and Administration and Payroll Accountant and in – charge of bank reconciliation, assistant accountant and chief cashier of The Open university of Tanzania. She received various awards like IPP Best CPA Award, TAC Auditing and Investigation award, PriceWaterhouse Coopers Best CPA Graduate Prize winner, and the like.

Mramba G.S.Nkalang'ango

Mramba G.S.Nkalang'ango –Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Officer.

He is an ICT Professional with more than 17 years working experience in ICT. Prior to joining BMAF in June 2011 He worked with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as Facilities and ICT Manager for ONE UN Office in Zanzibar. Other Organization he has worked with are British Council Tanzania (United Kingdom’s international cultural organization) and Precision Air Tanzania, a private Regional airline and UNESCO- Tanzania Office. In All these organizations he took a leading role in ICT related projects like Call Centre, VSAT and Flight Management System. He Holds Bsc In Computer Information Systems and MBA Management Informations Systems. He MCSE and CCNA as well. He attended various training in country and abroad, Obtree Content Management System (Manchester UK), certified Outsourcing Professional Master Class Hong Kong and ICT Management Nairobi Kenya. He attended various ICT related workshops in Tanzania, Kenya, UAE and South Africa.

Sizarina Tulasye Hamisi–Program Officer-Advocacy, Public Relations and Communications.

She is a communication, advocacy and public relations officer with a Degree in Psychosocial Counseling from Kenya Methodist University. She holds a HIV/AIDS VCT certificate from Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), FamilyPlanning and Reproductive Health certificate from Regional Health Centre, Makerere University. She has attended short courses in Media and Gender in Botswana and Kenya. Her experience spans over ten years with a Media House in Nairobi, Kenya. Also, she has two years experience in public awareness, advocacy and psychosocial counseling at Asumbi Rehabilitation Centre, Nairobi. Has contributed in social writing for several national and regional newspapers and magazines. She in an active member of Association of Media Women in Kenya (AMWIK)..

Valerian Lema–Compensation and Benefit Officer.

He is a LLB Degree holder from University of Dar es Salaam. He previously worked at AFRICARE Tanzania where he served as Administrative Officer from August 2009 to June 2011. He has also worked as Accountant and Administrator for the Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG) from April 2005 to July 2009ad. Earlier, Valerian had from April 2003 to March 2005 worked for Care International in Tanzania in the capacity of Head Office – Sub Grant Accountant and also as Finance Officer for the same organization from November 2000 to March 2003. He is partly qualified by the Institute of Chartered Company Secretary and Administrators (ICCSA) – UK. ..

Ms. Christine Malembeka

Ms. Christine Malembeka - Field Program Assistant

She holds Masters of Public Administration specifically in Human Resources Management and Advanced Diploma in Health Administration. She has knowledge on health matters and Local Government implementation structure as she worked with Handeni District Council as Health Secretary for 5 years.

Issuja

Mr. Issuja M. Kilian - Program Officer - Human Resources for Health Management

He holds a Master of Science in Health Systems Management and Advanced Diploma in Health Administration from Mzumbe University. He has a sound experience on human resources for health issues for more than 10 years. Before joining Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation, he worked with International SOS (Kahama) as Hospital Administrator for five (5) years and Mufindi District Council as a District Health secretary for 6 years. He has attended various HRH related trainings and workshops which equip him with more skills on HRH issues. Currently, he is a Program Officer-HRH Management at the Foundation.

Augustine Kiria

Mr. Augustine Kiria - Accountant

He is a holder an advanced diploma in Accountancy from the Institute of Finance and Management (IFM). He also holds Professional Level III of the National Board of Accountancy and Auditing. In his career as an accountant; he worked with BIOLANDS International Ltd, National Insurance Co-operation, Parastatal Pension Fund, Lima limited and Mavuno Limited. Currently, he is an accountant with Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation.

Pamela Maro Chiwa

Pamela Maro Chiwa – Program Officer – Capacity Development

She holds a Master of Science in Human Settlements from Katholiek University (Belgium). Prior to joining Mkapa Foundation in 2011, she was working with German Technical Cooperation-GIZ, (formerly GTZ) as an Assistant Project Coordinator for Capacity Development where she administered and managed project funds, coordinated, organized training sessions and prepared capacity building training manuals for regional and district water supply and sanitation authorities in Tanzania. She also worked with Ardhi University in the department of Housing as a Tutorial Assistant from 2008 to 2010. Pamela possesses a unique combination of teaching and coordination experience and she also has excellent grasp of coaching and mentoring.

He is a Holder of Advanced Diploma In Accountancy from St. Augustine University of Tanzania.

Olivia

Ms Olivia Murembo - Administrative Assistant

She holds Advanced Diploma in Business Management from the UK College of Business &Cumputing, Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management from Institute of Social Work, and a Certificate in Public Administration from Tanzania Public Service College. Before Joining Benjamin Mkapa, she worked as a volunteer Admin & HR Officer at SEDEF from April to September. Previously, she worked with International Rescue Committee as Human Resource Officer/ Admin Assistant and Medical Data Entry Clerk for 9years. Currently, she is Administrative Assistant at the Foundation.

Ms. Florah Kahwa

Ms. Florah Kahwa - Office Management Secretary

She is holding full secretarial Diploma. She had been working with various companies as secretary. She is currently; Office Management Secretary and Registry of Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation under HR and Administration department.

Salma

Ms. Salma Sizya Yusuf - Personal Assistant to the CEO
She is a Personal Assistant to the CEO of Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation. She holds Advanced Pitman’s Certificates in Secretarial Studies from London. She worked with Lahmeyer International - a Germany Consulting Engineering Company as an Office Management Secretary. Ms.Yusuf also worked with Malawi Cargo Centres Ltd, Coffee Marketing Board (Uganda) Ltd and Uganda Railways Corporation in the capacity of Personal Secretary. Before joining Mkapa Foundation, she was with Rift Valley Railways (Kenya/ Uganda) Ltd. as Administrative Assistant to the Resident Representative at Dar es Salaam Office. She also attended other trainings related to her professional and French Course.

Hyasinta Stephen

Ms. Hyasinta Stephen - Receptionist

She holds certificate in secretarial and has been working with various companies as receptionist and telephone operator. She is now a receptionist with the Foundation.

Mr. Shamsudin Ilyas - Driver

He is currently a driver in the Foundation. He holds Diploma in Automobile Engineering and Advanced Drivers Certificate. Mr. Ilyas has worked with various local and international auto mobile companies as a driver. He also holds a clear Class C driving licence.

Mr. Vionely Mbawa - Driver

He is a form Four lever with Class C Driving licence. Before joining Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation, he was working with M & D Chemical and Surgical Ltd as a driver.

His experience on human resources for health issues is of more than eight (8) years. Before joining Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation, He worked with Karatu District Council as District Health Secretary for more than three (3) years and Ministry of Health and Social Welfare - Zonal Health Resource Centre Lake Zone as Zonal Administrator for more than four (4) years. Also he attended various HRH related trainings and workshops which broaden his knowledge and skills on HRH issues.

Before joining Benjamin Mkapa HIV/AIDS Foundation, She was working with Aga Khan Foundation as a Programme Officer-Health, coordinating and monitoring health portfolio in Tanzania.

Jackson John Mengele–Field Program Assistant

Public Administration in Health Services Management Degree holder from Mzumbe University Morogoro. Before joining BMAF he worked with Ludewa District Council as District Health Secretary for two (2) years. He has a sound experience on Human Resources for Health issue.

Saria Mnana

Mr. Saria Mnana- Administrative and Accounts Officer

He has Advanced Diploma in Accounting. He has a wide experience in Accounting and Financial Management. In his career as an Accounting expert he has various posts as Project Accountant and Administrator Food and Agriculture Research Management (FARM- Africa), Accountant Grade II Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College a Constituent University Collage of Tumaini University. Currently Doing NBAA Professional Examinations..

Josephat Maganga

Mr. Josephat Maganga- Logistics Assistant Cum Driver

He is currently working as a Logistics Assistant cum Driver in the Foundation. He holds an Ordinary Level of Education, have an Advanced Drivers Grade II and PSV certificates from NIT. He has worked with Balenge Enterprises (T) LTD, New Ndassa Resort and Joshi General Merchandise as a driver. Before joining the foundation I worked with World Vision Tanzania for 14 years, 12yrs as a driver and 2yrs as an Assistant Transport Officer. During his career he participated in several on job trainings and awarded certificates in Gender and Development, Defense and Security, HIV/AIDS basic knowledge, Behavior Change Communication skills, Transformation Development Indicators measurement, Job Evaluation and Salary structuring, Psychosocial Counseling to Orphans, Project Baseline Surveys and Evaluations, also as a TOT in Security Issues (Nairobi) and Micro finance Best Practice from (Uganda Women Efforts to Save Orphans), He holds a clear new driving license with classes C1, C2, C3, D, E, B and A..

Ms.Joan J.Mungereza- Field Program Coordinator-Mtwara

She holds a bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Masters degree in Development studies from the University of Dar es Salaam.Has 5 years professional experience in the non governmental sector and International community.Has worked with various local and international organizations and institutions like Plan International Tanzania, the Royal Embassy of Norway and the Foundation for Civil Society in Tanzania in different program capacities. Prior to joining the Foundation, I worked with the Foundation for Civil Society in Tanzania as a Grants Program Officer.

Rosalia Kayumbo

Ms.Rosalia Kayumbo-Field Program Assistant-Mtwara

She holds Advanced Diploma Human Resource Management from Institute of Social Work Tanzania, a Certificate in Journalism and Media Studies from St Augustine University Mwanza Tanzania. Before joining Mkapa HIV/AIDs foundation, she was working with Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) as a Community, Monitoring and Evaluation volunteer. .

Robinson Minja

Mr. Robinson Minja- Administrative and Accounts Officer

He is a holder of Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Institute of Finance Management (IFM) and Advance Diploma in Accountancy. He is also pursuing NBAA professional examination final stage. He was working with Dunduliza Company ltd in partnership with Desjardin International Development (DID) as Assistant Accountant in Lake Zone.

Bushiri Ali Mohamed

Bushiri A.Mohamed- Logistic Cum Driver (LAD)-Mtwara

He is a Form four leaver with driving and mechanical skills at Mtwara driving school. He Worked with Dash-Wood Cooperation and UNIAFRICO Company.Has Advanced driver's course grade II (VIP) from NIT. Before joining the Foundation he has worked with M & P company in Mtwara as a driver as well.

In July 2005, then President of Tanzania, H.E. Benjamin William Mkapa and the former US President H.E. William Jefferson Clinton launched the Benjamin William National HIV/AIDS Fellows program. The aim was to recruit, train and deploy highly skilled health workers to server rural areas.
